Hungarian at the restaurant and café: from ordering to paying
This A2 deck teaches 35 full Hungarian sentences for eating out. The front of each card shows the Hungarian phrase and the back gives the English, so you learn to understand each phrase the moment you hear or read it. It follows a typical visit: booking (Asztalt foglaltam hét órára. – I've booked a table for seven o'clock.), ordering, asking about the food and finally the bill.
Hungarian makes requests polite with the conditional ending, as in Kérhetnénk… (could we have…). The first five cards – Kérhetnénk egy asztalt két személyre? (Could we have a table for two?), Szeretnék rendelni. (I'd like to order.), Mit ajánl? (What do you recommend?), Kérek egy kávét tejjel. (A coffee with milk, please.) and Ezt köret nélkül szeretném. (I'd like this without the side dish.) – are free to try without registering, with audio.
